I figured it out!
When I was little, I had Molly the American Girl Doll. She was the WW2 American Girl Doll. In the books, she used to pin curl her hair every night. ***correction she pin curled her hair for special occasions most notably when she played Miss Victory in her school's Winter Pageant.
When I was little, I also went through this phase of attempting to pin curl my hair. It never really worked out because my hair was too long, and I was too impatient to pin curl small little sections.
Pretty sure these two facts are linked.
So I tried to pin curl my hair last night on a whim, avoiding my 15 page paper on metatheatre in A Midsummer Night's Dream. It still didn't really work out. But I am going to pretend I look like a cross between Annie Clark and Emily.
Like my sister Maggie, my hair bends it does not curl.
